Couple launches Web site, hosts open house

The couple launches its Money Savers Web site April 4 and is ready to invite the public to a launch open house.

The open house runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at 2015 A. St. There, personal care products offered through the Web site, http://moneysavers.wwdb.biz, will be available for trial.

The Web site offers home, health and beauty product lines. Many products are offered in bulk amounts.

"The object is to figure out how much you'll buy on a monthly basis and save money that way," Amanda Ott said.

She said the site can reduce or eliminate visits to the grocery store, creating more time for recreation or playing with children, through its Ditto program.

Through the program, customers can automatically have items sent to their homes on a regular basis.

"We're tying to help people save time, save money and help them complete whatever their goals are," Amanda Ott said.

Graeme Innes: same sex, same entitlements inquiry

Tonight, Graeme Innes, the Australian Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commissioner, as he prepares to hand over to Government his "Same Sex: Same Entitlements" report.

Graeme Innes knows how hard it is being different. He's blind, and he's also one of the most influential policy makers in the country. As the Human Rights Commissioner he can advise the Federal Government on which areas of the law need changing to better meet the demands of a modern society.

Graeme Innes has just chaired a landmark inquiry into the entitlements same sex couples are missing out on. The results will go the Federal Attorney-General next month and he's hoping there'll be legislative change and soon.

Decrease in Breast Cancer Rates Related to Reduction in Use of ...

The sharp decline in the rate of new breast cancer cases in 2003 may be related to a national decline in the use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), according to a new report in the April 19, 2007, issue of the New England Journal of Medicine. The report used data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) program of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), part of the National Institutes of Health. Age-adjusted breast cancer incidence rates in women in the United States fell 6.7 percent in 2003. During this same period, prescriptions for HRT declined rapidly, following highly-publicized reports from the Womens Health Initiative (WHI) study that showed an increased risk of breast cancer, heart disease, stroke, blood clots, and urinary incontinence among postmenopausal women who were using hormone replacement therapy that included both estrogen and progestin.
